RAPID LOAD TEST

ARGES RAPID LOAD TEST

An in-house designed Rapid Load Test machine is developed to provide a faster way of doing pile load test in Singapore. ARGES's self-lifting impact system comes with the anti-rebound device require less manpower to carry out entire pile testing operation.

Test Benefits:
- Mobile, fast setup
- Highly productive
- Reliable results
- No pre-select working test pile
- Reduced cost
- Onshore or nearshore project

TEST RESULT & INTERPRETATION METHOD

Rapid load test results can be analysed by using the Unloading Point Method (UPM). This method starts with determination of the so-called unloading point where the velocity of the pile is zero. The method is written as:

Rc,ic,tw-max = Fc,tw-max – (m x atw-max)
Where
atw-max              is the acceleration measured during the test at tw-max
Fc,tw-max            is the magnitude of the forced measured during the test at tw-max

Rc,ic,tw-max         is the inertia of corrected pile resistance at tw-max
m                      is the mass of the pile and any other components contributing to
                          inertial resistance of the pile

tw-max               is the time some time after the commencement and before the
end of the load application phase of the test where the pile
velocity effectively becomes 0 m/s or a value close to this
